Nancy Kidder is a graduate of Duke University and received her MFA in creative nonfiction from American University in Washington, DC, where she currently teaches writing. Her course, “Writing and Fighting: from the boxing ring to the MMA cage,” examines culture, race, gender and the human condition in a sport that juxtaposes unrelenting aggression with heroic fortitude.
